Tram Update/Tram Notes Issue No. 4 Season # 1

Image
For Christmas this year, I recived a Berlin Tram, which I went on while I was in Berlin. I also recived a London Bus, and a Dresden Tram & Bus. I also got a Sentosa Monorail in Singapore. I later on opened a stoplight(which really lighted up), 3 German road signs which were the no entry, crosswalk, and bump up ahead. I mixed up all of those things which made... It might not look so good, I did my best. Tram Tip: Every Tram in Dresden stopped about 2,000 times if it was built during 2008's Christmas My Dad, My Sister, and Me went to the Dresden Transport Musuem at Neumarkt on Thursday, December 23rd, 2010.

What Christmas Means to Me and Christmas Day...

Today was one of the best days in 2010 for me, so this is how I will discribe it: I woke up this morning, and then woke up my sister Maggie, in her bed on the bottom bunk. I whispered "Maggie, it's Christmas". She opened her eyes and said "What"? I said " It's Christmas!" In a half whispering and half talking out loud voice. She ran out of bed, and dashed to the living room. I did the samething right behind her. When she saw the living room full of presents, she ohhed, and ahhhhhhed. I said "Go wake up sleppy head Mom and Sleppy head Dad, Hurry!" Maggie dashed back out of the living room, and into Mom and Dad's room. I heard her say " Come on, get up you 2, it's Christmas morning!" Maggie came back into the living room, andturned on the light. I read the note that Santa had wrote for us, which was really nice for him taking the time to write one, escipally on a very busy night. Soon, Mom and Dad(& Toga) were in the

Sleep Walking Last Night

I got up this morning, and my Dad said I sleep walked last night. He said " After the movie you watched, you ran into the kitchen and grabbed a plate, then ran into your room. Mom was yelling "Why do you need a plate"? I put it on my desk they said. I had no idea that I did that!

Innsbruck, Austria and Venus, Italy Vacation Part 1 of Whole Vacation

Fro m 10/22/10 to 10/20/10 we where in Italy. From Dresden, Germany to Innsbruck, Austria was the 1st trip. Innsbruck was awesome becasue the hotel was great, the alps were beatiful, you could see them from our hotel room window and the trams were neat. When we got there, we dropped Mom off at the hotel entrance and then Dad, Maggie, and Me drove to the parking lot, a few ways away. The parking lot had an elevator, for the cars, it was so small in there. It took us 15 minutes to take the elevator and park the car. We walked back to the hotel and meet Mom in the doorway, we all checked in together, and then took the person elevator with all our suitcases to floor 2, where our room was. We put the card in the door and opened the door. We were all pressing light switches, but the lights did not turn on. After 2 minutes, Dad figured out that you had to put the hotel card in a little holder thing, and all the lights turned on. When I saw the room with light, it looked very nice. Me and Magg

Writing a Letter to The Principal

Some days ago, the teachers had said "Shut Up" to my class. Yesterday I made a letter to my principal saying that that word is a bad word and none of the teachers at Dresden International School/Annen Campus should not say that. I am going to give it to her today. Comment if you think that teachers should say that, or if you don't.

Maggie's First Violin Music Lesson

Maggie had her first violin lesson today. It's part of the school. She has them every Thursday. She did really good. I was looking at my school planner the whole time but I looked and saw she did a good job. We did a crossword puzzle, me and mom, while we were waiting.

Tram Notes (Issue 2 Season 1)

The DVB(Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe AG) tram driver will always ring this loud bell when another veichcle is on or between the tracks. When they are in between the two stops, the tram will autimatilly will say"Nathe Haltischelle__________platz or stasse. The driver has a ton of bottons and the trams make a neat sound. They made the tram make a different sound then cars because the car would know there is a tram in back of them.

Dad's Leaving:) and :(

Dad is leaving to do some interviews next week back in NY, where I came from. I am going to have to make a list of things he can do for me there. He will be there for 1 week. Mom is getting all crazy about this, asking question and things he can do for her. I will miss him really much!:(

Going to a Music Place with GlobalFouries Friends

9/10/10, we went to this music place where they had Soft Rock last night. Me and Maggie where playing games like tag and hide and go seek with some of the other kids that came and Mom and Dad where talking with other adults. We were on the tram for a long time until we came. We kept doing that stuff until Maggie got tired and I got sleppy, a headace of the loud music, and getting sick. We then waited 8 minutes for the tram and got off and took th ethe 6 home. We ended waiting 20 MINUTES for the 6! We saw another lady running to a tram and she was to late so she ended up waiting 15 minutes when we still had 5 minutes. We got on the 6 and I almost fell asleep on the tram. We got home and went to bed.

Tram Notes (Issue 1 Season 1)

A DVB tram driver always is a reg. Man or Woman. They have they eyes looking for stop lights, their feet always stepping on breaks and pedals. Every time they come to a stop, they need to press the open door button, right away. When they need to turn, they have the buttons "Left" and "Right" or "Left arrow" or "Right arrow" depending if the tram is older or newer. The trams get their power from a big thing on top hooked up to a wire on the top of the tram. When a tram and another tram pass each other, they will ring a bell or do this weird hand-motion thing with their hands.

Going to the Shillergarten with GlobalFounries Friends

9/3/2010 we went to the Shillergarten with a bunch of other people from GlobalFouries. First, like what we always do, go up to the stand and order our food.Me and Maggie got sausage and bread, Dad got just poatos, and we got Mom a good cooked one out another stand. Maggie and me got Apfel Shole and Dad got his beer and Mom brought her beer. We had played on the playgrond there which was nice. Then, I was looking for Ice Cream. The Ice cream stand was closed, the one's in the stand must of have run out, so I went in the resturant building and they had cake. I bought myself a slice. Dad had big blobs of it and Maggie then ate the whole rest of it! Then we went home.

Sick!

Yesterday and today I am/was out of school. I have streap thouat.

Going to the Baltic Sea (6 Hours from Dresden)

Image
I started out this day without forgetting it was vacation. I woke up and then woke up my sister. Like usual, my parents were already up. I got changed, and then helped pack. Then an hour later, we started packing my sister’s cloths and mine in a big blue suitcase. We had then got everything and put it in the car. My Dad and me went up to and go get my Mom and my sister and then we left. We got on the highway. Something funny about the highway here is that you get on the highway and then you go on a exit, and than you go on another highway, and from that highway, you go on an exit, and that exit will bring to another highway, then that exit will bring you someplace. We stopped for lunch someplace later on. I got this meatball and French-fries while Maggie got the same thing. Mom, had to bring a salad because she could not eat anything there. I don’t remember what Dad got. Mom gave Maggie and me some cucumbers because she doesn’t like them. We went to the bathroom there again. We got ba

Festival Near Albertplatz and Neustadter Market

All this weekend(8-21 to the 8-22), a really fun festival right near Albertplatz. Kids Canival Games, Ice Cream, A Huge Fares Wheel, Beer for adults, right near the Golden Rider Statue. It is right near the tram stop "Altstadt Market" with the tram lines "4", "9", and the "8". Or you can start at Albertplatz. The tram lines at "Albertplatz*" are, "6", "7", "3", "8", and "11". If you go you will have so much fun with the shops and stands. Please Comment, if you like it.

First Day of School 2010-2011

On 8/18/10, which was my first day of school and this is how is went. I woke up 20 minutes before I had to just to get a head start. I went to the bathroom, got changed, had breakfast, brushed my teeth(and that's when Maggie woke up), and got everything in my backpack. Then Maggie and Mom were ready and we got on the tram before the one were suppose to go on. We got on that one and it took about 20 minutes on the tram(an hour to walk). We had then walked to the school which took a minute. Mom got her visitor card and we went inside the school. We didn't know what to do, so we just waited in the cafitera. Then we just went to our classroms upstairs. I opened my locker where my school supplies were and grabbed them out. I put my backpack in and changed in my inside shoes and then went in the classroom. I saw my teacher. Her name is Ms. Ann. I put my school supplies in my cubby and put my folder/homework bag on the hook on my desk. We waited and when school started, we had a seat

Letter to Riley

Dear Riley, I'm glad you are enjoying your adventures here in Germany. It is so much fun to look into your eyes as we learn new things together and visit new places. I'm so proud of you, and how you are showing me how to use the Trams. I love that you can tell me what number tram to get on, when I tell you where I want to go in Dresden. You have been a big help when we travel on them. And, when we grocery shop! And I have to take 5 minutes before I put anything in my cart, after I try to read what I want to get, then try to read all the ingredients since I have my food allergies. I will miss you on Wednesday when you go to school, but I can't wait to volunteer in your classroom and bring you and pick you up from school each day. I can't wait to hear about all your adventures, and hoping you can teach me some German! Love, Mom

How Good My Life Feels...

For all my life I have been in the USA, I'd always love to go to another country. I started my 2nd grade school year and as the days went on, is was about October, and that was when I heard my parents talking to each other saying, "Stacey, I looked online at the jobs at GlobalFounries.com and I saw an open job for 6 people. I will have to do interviews to get the job" . My Mom said back "Sure, you can apply for it, I know that you won't get it" . He started doing interviews the next few weeks and I was wondering what country we were going to transfer to if he did get the job. On a Monday when I woke up, my dad said " Mom will tell you at school today if I got the job and she will tell you where we will be going for it and how long we are staying at that country. Then at school, my mom came up to me and said "We are moving to Germany for a year"! I came home and I was so excited! I was finally going to leave the country. We were going to leav

My Sister Had Her "Zuckertuten Fest" Yesterday

Image
On August 14th, 2010, Ballston Spa Resident, Maggie Walz, who moved to Dresden, Germany, because of her father’s GlobalFoundries job, participated in the Dresden International School’s Zuckertuten Festival. The Zuckertuten Festival is where Parents and Siblings go and find toys, Barbies, sugar goods, etc. and put it in a large designed cardboard cone. The parents bring the cone on the day of the festival to the school. The child receives it from their teacher. When the child gets home they open the cone and see what they have & play with it. The principal gave a short speech about going in to first grade and how much fun they will have. Then the 2 classes/40 kids received their own cone. Then the Primary School teacher asked some of the kids what they were looking forward to in First Grade. After the festival, the whole school was invited to see their new teacher and their teacher’s classroom. They let everyone play on the playground and had a school fundraiser BBQ. They served w

Yesterday, we wanted to go to the mall to get Maggie's Cone. (A Cone of toys because of when school starts for only 1st graders) We went to a store named Muller and did a lot looking then checked out and then Mom went in this earring store and I waited at a resturant table. Then we left and we got on a bus becasue Prager St. is Contruction right now. I thought in would take us to Bohnhoff Mitte were the 6 NIdersedlitz goes and we could take the 6 home. I kept. saying to Mom, it's the next one, and I kept. repeating it. I went to look at the map and some lady said we were going the wrong way and then I say at the stop that another bus stoped at the stop near our house. We looked and it said that we would have to be on that bus for 50 minutes! We had to do it every know we didn't want to. We got on that one and it took forever. We got off at another stop I wasen't really planning to do, but then took another tram from that stop home. Does that make any sense?

July 30th, 2010 in Berlin

We are in Berlin right now. Yesterday, the movers came and droped off our stuff. I was really busy. We took a tram to a train and then to the Dresden Flughafen/Airport. (Flughafen is Airport in German) We went to Berlin and met the rental apartment lady there at the door. She showed us the apartment and it was nice. It was about 7:00pm and we still didn't have dinner, we went to the place that had the best fish sandwich(and french fries). Dad even let us have a milkshake for our drink. I got Mango and Maggie got Vinilla. We walked back to our rental apartment to go to bed. I had a good day. And we are leaving this place on my birthday like we did last year :(!

July 24th Craziness

I just woke up. Yesterday, we went to the groccrey store really far away and Mom got her chocolate coconut bars and Mom and Maggie had some after we got out of the groccey store. Mom got me this fruit smoothie. I couldn't eat it because I didn't have a spoon or a fork. Today is Saturday so Dad is home right now. We don't think we will go hiking tomorrow because it's suppose to rain. Dad went there on Easter and when I saw pictures, the place looked beatiful. We went to the Elbe Park Mall and looked at chairs. We saw like 3 good ones but they we to expensive. Then we tranfered from the Elbe Park Mall to Dresden IKEA. A big everything store + cafe. We didn't like any of the chairs, but bought a lot of other stuff. We went home (Oh, and I forgot to tell you, some guy that left his cloths here came and picked them up today) we put everything away and went toa american store. It was closed though. We went to dinner and then went home and went to bed.

July 23rd

I just woke up and had breakfast. We ran out of cereal, so I opened a new pack of the cereal bars since we ran out of them. We opened the cherry pack. They were so good! Guess what I figured out to do on my e-mail, I can change my name from who it will say it is from. Like it used to always be "Riley". I changed it to Riley's Movie Maker Business. Sorry, we just got back from dinner. We took #4 Laugest tram Strisen stop and got on #12 Letewitz home. And when we got on, we were the only one's on the tram! We got to our stop and we had to walk in the rain home. I brushed my teeth and got changed. Mom put a candle on and I wrote in my journal. Today is Payton's 8th birthday and Callie's 6th birthday. (Callie's Birthday party is tomorrow). I went to bed and had a great (really) great day.

July 22nd, 2010

It's just I can never write because we are either doing stuff or being busy. I put a Blog Gadget on my desktop so it is so easier to write on my blog. Today, we met Wendy, Mom's Globalfouries friend. We met her at Prager Stasse and we went to a book store and got a chapter book for me. We didn't get anything from the library. We rode the tram to Shillerplatz and got ice cream. I got Mango ice cream and it was good. We sat on a bench facing the river. We walked back on the bike trail. We hung out at the apartment with Wendy. When Wendy left, Dad came home. We had dinner and watched a movie. Maggie and Mom read there one chapter of a book there are reading. It is called "Little Fur". We got the book in Prague in an english bookstore. I went to bed and had a great day.

I found my sister's littliest doll she got from Prague. She was playing with it on the balcony. So we went out one more time and looked and it was on our neighbors balcony. So I climbed and grabbed it so they didn't see me. I'm glad that she got it back today.

7/20/10 : ZOO!(And crazy trams)

Today, I woke up and I have breakfast. Then Mom woke up and let Toga out then came back in and she said do you want to go to the Zoo? And Me and Maggie said "Yes". We took #12 to Stassburger Platz and then took 13 Prolis to The Zoo. Then the tram stopped going to tram stops. Everyone had to get off. I told Mom to get on the bus with was 13 Prohlis and would take us to the Zoo. She said it wouldn't. We walked to another stop and the same bus went there. That bus came and Mom got on it. She makes no sense. It was long time since I've been on those buses. The last time I've been on one was the first day we moved here. So we got to the Zoo from the bus. We payed to get in. And did a lot of looking at animals. We saw turtles, peguins, a tiger, a lion, 3 elephants, spider monkeys, spiders, rats and mouses, we saw a lot. We went to the Blasewitz/Shillerplatz tram stop and went in a toy store, and Maggie got a ring. We went to a really cool relaxation store. It had journals, candles, soaps, frames, and other neat stuff. We didn’t buy anything there. But we went to one more cool relaxation store, but still, we didn’t buy anything there either. We went home on the tram. Dad came home ]]and we had a dish for dinner. I didn't know what it was called, but it was really good. After Dinner, Me, Maggie, and Mom cleaned up the kitchen while Dad made our beds and vacumed a little. Mom and Dad told Me and Maggie that we were going to go this big shopping/groccrie store. Me and Dad went there onece because we needed to recyle the cans and bottles. When I stepped in the recyling center, it was the size of a normal groccrie st

Going to Prague for the weekend

He made me cereal. And then Maggie came in and Dad made her breakfast, too. Then I said “Wait, We’re going to Prague today!” (Prague is one of the top 10 cities in the world!) We started to pack and got in our car and went to Prague. Dad got some money at the back, stopped at the Groccrie Store and got some drinks for the ride, and got some gas for the car, and then started to our ride to our hotel we we’re going to go to. Dad said we couldn't check in to the hotel until 2:00, so we went to the huge mall I’ve every seen! We had lunch there. I had a Fish Stick sandwich and Maggie had the samething. When we got home, Mom made us lunch. We had Peanut Butter and Sandwiches. Dad had to sign the bank form yesterday, so we brought it back, and we went on the train to get there. It took 20 minutes to get there. Mom looked at the hours and the time was from 10:00am to 1:00 pm when we got there at 2:00pm. We walked to the sprinkler, but didn’t go in it. We sat down to have a drink Mom brought in her purse. We went to some stores, and then Mom asked me where is you sweatshirt? I said, “I think I lost it”. We went back on the train to get home. We had Chicken and Cheese for dinner blended in with brown rice. I went to bed like normal on the bottom bed. Kin dove like a normal day!

Some Funny Stories that happened the last few days...

A ton of trams... Will yesterday, we wanted to go on a hike on one of the trails in Dresden. We got on a tram and went to a stop and started walking on a trail. Maggie wanted to stop at a playground so we stopped at one and played there for like 10 minutes. We walked back to another tram stop and saw that train #1 Phrolis and #2 this very long one stop there. We knew that it didn't go to our house. But we saw that it went to a stop that a another trm that goes to our house stops there. So we get on #1 Prolis and wait and wait and wait. The tram gets to it's end stop and turns into 1 Lutawisz. We stay on that one and Mom says that one will go to a stop that goes to our house. It gets to that stop, we had to cross a ton of streets and got on th e tram that went to our house. We get home and had crazy day. Lost key... We went to the pool and Mom lost her locker key to our locker where all our stuff was in. She told the life guard and apparently some one found in. July 5th-One of the craziest days...

So here they have Grocery stores in the mall. We were at one today. They have two toy stores in the mall. We checked out, The cashier lady said something in German to mom, so mom said back “nine duesth” which is “no German”. Mom did the same thing in the nutrition store right down the street from the mall. We went on a train to get back home. We were just cooling off because it was so hot with some German apple juice. It tastes like apple cider a little. We went on a CRAZY LONG bike ride on the bike path right near our house. We stopped at a bench since we rode so long. Mom and Maggie, my sister, were taking pictures and looking at them. On the bike ride, my sister fell a few times. When we finally got up, we started going again and since my sister went so slow on her bike, my mom went fast, she goes so fast. And my mom’s well hit mine, which made her fall on me. We finally got back to our apartment and Dad came home from work. He either rang the doorbell or buzzed us because the doo

Today(7/4/2010)

Today, Will right know, we are on a bus. There is this weird type of clicking sound. I can hear it every minute. We just got off the bus. Now we just finished going in a sprinkler. Dad just squeezed the water out of my shirt. We are on our way to get on the tram/train and then to get back to our apartment. And we just arrived on the train . Germany is way different then United States of America. We are almost home. It was a fun day.

I am in Germany!

3 days (and 2 days ago)ago, we were on our trip form the United States to Germany. We went to Albany Airport. Dad ordered a taxi van because our luggage was to big to put in a normal car. It was sad to say goodbye to Aunt Marijo, Grandma(Oma(Grandma in German))and Grandpa(Opa). When we arrived at the airport, Dad told me to come in with him. He said to watch the bags. I will come in with more and more bags. After all 12 bags were in, Dad went in to check-in our bags and scan our passports. That took forever to do in then finally, Dad said we were finished. And then it was time to get in line for society. I got off my shoes, got my DSi, and grabbed my laptop, and put it in the basket. After it went under the brigy thing, we went to our gate and were heading for 1 out of 3 flight Washington D.C./Dullas International Airport. We had a 100 calerie pack since we were a little hungrey. Dad said that he wanted a cup of coffee so we went to Starbucks Coffee, right near our waiting place. After

Then we went to go to the rug to tell of what we will never forget in our 2009-2010 school year. Mrs. Bondi, our school's pick up lady, picked us up and brought us to the cafeteria. I saw my Grandma waiting for me. I had a great 2nd grade/2009-2010

Mom and Aunt Mari grabbed their carry-on chair. I forgot my water, so Mom, Aunt Mari, and Maggie started walking down to the soccer field while I got my water bottle. I came back to the sidewalk and ran to catch up with them. After I finally got to soccer, I went to my coach and we did our worm-up. Then the game started. We got 2-6 at the end of all 4 quarters. Then we headed back and I got changed and went to the bathroom. Then we left for the sleep-over. After 35 minutes we were there. We brought everything into her house. Crazy Lady (Season 1 Vol. 1)

Crazy Lady(Becky) By Riley Once upon a time (This is a real story)(Not really) Becky was a lady that lived in New York(NY). She was a really BUSY BUSY woman. She went to store-after-store. She would even not spend time with her family on Christmas. Her sister, Carol, was not like her. Everyone could not believe that there were sisters. Becky even had a cell phone. She had made 1,000 calls when the day ended. If someone did not answer, she would just keep calling until they answered. The same thing with going door-to-door. She would knock on peoples doors and wait until there answered their door. Sometimes, she would wait on their porch for hours. And still with email. She would send a millon e-mails a day to her friends And if she got scared alone outside at night, she would climb up a tree and wait up there until morning. Her husband, Steve, would yell “Becky, what are you doing up there?” “I’m scared”. Then she would fall in a pool because she couldn’t hold on anymore. (He
